We're hiring! We're looking for applicants from all backgrounds who enjoy collaborating with others and who want to learn more about inclusive teaching strategies to join the Writing Center team as a Consultant, English 186 Fellow, or Bio 142 Fellow in Fall 2022. To apply, you'll need two academic writing samples, a brief statement of interest, and the names of two Emory people (including one faculty member) who can serve as references (Bio 142 applicants should be certain to request a reference from your Bio 142 professor). Happy 2022, Oxford! The Writing Center Consultants will return for online instruction only on Sunday, January 23; the Writing Fellows will be available online beginning the second week of class. When we return to in-person learning on January 31, we will offer on-site appointments in Pierce 117 and continue to offer online appointment options. This semester, we're offering a new opportunity for writing support: writing groups! Join a small group of your fellow Oxford students at relaxed twice-monthly meetings where you'll have the opportunity to log dedicated writing time and work through challenges with a community of your peers. A supportive, encouraging faculty member will help you set goals, structure your work time, and discover writing and revision strategies that work well for you. Interested? Consultants can help writers interpret assignments, brainstorm ideas, develop good arguments, get organized, choose and document good outside sources, practice presentation, design posters and websites, and more!

If Reading Day leads into writing days, know that the Writing Center is open during finals! Consultants are available today, Thursday, Sunday, and Monday between 2PM and 10PM each day.
Need to get your final papers finished... or started? Join the Writing Center as we partner with colleges around the world for an International Write-In event this week! On Thursday, December 5 between 3PM and 6PM there will be writing consultants and librarians on hand to help you with your research papers, final presentations, business school applications, and other work. Get writing tips and feedback, or just make time to sit down and write. Catered snacks for all writers!
Before the holiday weekend's over, there's one more thing to be thankful for: the Writing Center is open regular hours tomorrow! Consultants are available to help you with all of those assignments due after break.

Don't let midterm assignments haunt you this week - come to our Halloween Write-In event! Drop into the Writing Center any time between 2 and 5PM this Wednesday, October 30 to sit and work on any of your academic or personal projects.
