Hi Oxford students! Just a heads up that, in the unlikely event of a campus shut down due to coronavirus, the Writing Center will still be there for you. Welcome to Spring 2020, Oxford! The Writing Center schedule is live and we are accepting appointments as soon as tomorrow, Monday, January 27th. Consultants can help writers interpret assignments, brainstorm ideas, develop good arguments, get organized, choose and document good outside sources, practice presentation, design posters and websites, and more!

Need to get your final papers finished... or started? Join the Writing Center as we partner with colleges around the world for an International Write-In event this week! On Thursday, December 5 between 3PM and 6PM there will be writing consultants and librarians on hand to help you with your research papers, final presentations, business school applications, and other work. Get writing tips and feedback, or just make time to sit down and write. Catered snacks for all writers!

If you've been thinking about applying to work for the Writing Center in the spring semester but need a little more time, there's good news! The deadline has been extended until Monday, November 11th at 11:59PM. Applicants from lots of different majors, backgrounds, identities, and skill sets are encouraged to apply; the primary job requirement is that you enjoy collaborating with your peers. Don't let midterm assignments haunt you this week - come to our Halloween Write-In event! Drop into the Writing Center any time between 2 and 5PM this Wednesday, October 30 to sit and work on any of your academic or personal projects. Consultations will be available with staff from the Writing Center, the Library, and Career & Couneling Services, as well as faculty who teach classes involving writing. Enjoy catering from Bon Appetit, access to lots of writing-related books and resources, and, of course, plenty of Halloween candy.

The Writing Center is hiring consultants and fellows for Spring 2019 and is looking for applicants from a broad range of backgrounds and disciplines. FYI: the Writing Center will be closed this coming Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday (October 13, 14, 15) for fall break. We'll re-open on Wednesday the 16th at 2PM. If you have papers due right after break, a good time to come in for a consultation is... right now!

The Fall 2019 schedule is live!! All Oxford students may now schedule appointments with any of our 16 consultants in advance, or drop in for a consultation! The Writing Center officially opens tomorrow, September 11, at 2PM and will be open from 2PM to 10PM Sunday through Thursday all semester. 

Bring your course assignments, internship applications, resumes, cover letters, e-mail drafts, PowerPoint presentations, posters, website designs - no matter what stage of the writing process you're in - and get expert feedback from trained sophomore consultants.

Welcome (back) to the Oxford campus, everyone! The Oxford Writing Center will open for the year on Wednesday, September 11 at 2PM. The new Fall 2019 schedule will be live by the end of the first full week of class - keep an eye on this space!
